Saturday 		ROME
Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at the airport you will be greeted and
transferred to the refurbished former palace, Hotel Starhotel Metropole 4*
DAY 3
Sunday 		ROME (B)
Morning city tour of Rome including visits to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and St. Peter's Basilica. Panoramic sightseeing of Republic Largo Square and Castel S. Angelo. Balance of the day at leisure. Optional Ancient Rome tour including the Colosseum and Capital Square or Christian Rome tour including the Catacombs and Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
DAY 4
Monday 		ROME (B)
Breakfast and morning visit to the Vatican Museum including the Rooms of
Raffaello and the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's masterpiece frescoed
ceiling. Afternoon free to explore on your own.

DAY 5
Tuesday 		ROME/ ASSISI/ SIENA/ FLORENCE (B/D)
Breakfast and depart to Assisi for a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis with its masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue and the Church of St. Claire. Continue to the beautiful medieval city of Siena, known for its fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, the Palio Festival and Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral. Proceed to Florence for dinner and accommodations. DAY 6
Wednesday

FLORENCE (B/D)
Morning city tour of Florence. Visit the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, which
holds Michelangelo's second "Pieta", the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistry with its famous bronze doors of Ghiberti, Giotto's Bell tower, the Academy of Fine Arts with Michelangelo's "David" and the Church of Santa Crose. Afternoon at leisure.
DAY 7
Thursday 		FLORENCE/ PADUA/ VENICE (B/D)
Breakfast and morning departure to Padua for a visit to the 13th century Basilica of St. Anthony and Donatello's statue "Gattamelata". Continue to beautiful Venice for a walking tour of the Piazza and Basilica of San Marco, the Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons. Visit a glass factory before dinner and evening at your leisure. Hotel Principe 4 *
DAY 8
Friday

VENICE (B/D)
Breakfast and full day at leisure. Stroll through the luxury shops and cafes or wander along the canals. Or choose an Optional tour to the islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 9
Saturday 		VENICE / VERONA**/ LAKE COMO** (B/D)
After breakfast, depart across the flat Veneto plain to Romeo and Juliet's city of Verona for panoramic sightseeing. Continue through the region of Lombardy to the beautiful Lake Como for dinner and overnight. Grand Hotel 4*
